Vacancy for Intern in ALAC program

Transparency Ethiopia is a civil society organization registered as an Ethiopian charity and a chapter of Transparency International (the global coalition against corruption) is a non-governmental, non-partisan and non-profit organization which makes a fight against corruption and promotion of ethics.

Transparency Ethiopia (TE) has launched project named “Public Awareness, Advocacy and Legal Aid for Anti-Corruption Works” which will be implemented for a period of 30 months through the financial grant secured from the European Union Civil Fund 2. By the financial support from EU, Transparency Ethiopia is looking for 3 interns to fill its vacant positions. The internship is intended to promote the essence of voluntarism and social service for no financial consideration.

Selection Criteria to be considered as an Intern in advocacy and legal aid center ( ALAC ) program

He or she;

· Needs to have interest or tendency to volunteer and support Victims of corruption

· Need to have positive acceptance and good reputation from the society

· Need to understand societal problems and he/she need to avail him/herself to the service whenever there is a need

· Willingly and passionately prepared himself or herself to deliver quality service to the needy ones.

· Need to have strong stand in anti-corruption movement/struggle and committed to bring positive change toward the issue

· Willing to dedicate at least 20 hours/ week; 4 hours per day, from Monday to Friday. And works voluntarily on Saturday and Sunday (Not compulsory).

· more in law and zero years of experience

· Has to be ready to accept the work ethic of the organization

· Willing to accept order form his/her immediate or distant boss and willing to perform the same with due diligence

· Has to believe in partnership and team work

· Has to believe in Gender equality

· Shall be willing to observe the confidentiality protocol of the institution

· Shall avail himself/herself on time whenever there is a need from the part of his immediate or distant boss

· Need to have good inter-personal skill

· Willing to work in stressful working condition


The internship is not to be considered as paid job, but as a way of refund for the expense incurred as a result of transportation and other related costs, Transparency Ethiopia will provide interns with small amount of remuneration, i.e. 600 Ethiopian birr per months.


Inters will fall under immediate supervision of officers and program coordinator working under ALAC project. The executive director will also work as distant supervisor of inters.


This internship program will have duration of three months with possible extension.

Place of Work

The intern will perform his/her duty in Transparency Ethiopia head office; located in Addis Ababa, Hayuhulet mazoriya next to Addis Hiwot Hospital, Bole subcity, woreda 04, House No. 035 (Amelework Building)
